Ute - Elk is a 9.7-mile out-and-back hike in the Rifle Ranger District of Colorado's White River National Forest, managed by the Forest Service. The trail rises from about 9,989 feet to about 11,103 feet, a climb of 133 feet, and is rated hard. It is accessible and carries horses, and bikes are not allowed. The route is natural-surface and open year-round. Blair Lake lies about a mile away, and Boiler Creek is roughly 4 miles off. Meadow Ridge Campground and Deep Lake Campground, both about 6.5 miles away, offer places to stay.
