Tenderfoot Trail is an easy 2.4-mile out-and-back hike in the Dillon Ranger District of White River National Forest, about 0.5 miles from Dillon Reservoir in Colorado. The land is managed by Regional Water Districts, and the trail sits at a natural surface, with horses and bikes both allowed. The route gains about 580 feet, from a low of roughly 9,300 feet to a high of about 9,900 feet. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July highs around 75°F with lows near 38°F, while winter highs stay in the low 30s. Oro Grande Trail and Tenderfoot Mountain both lie within a third of a mile. Windy Point Group Campground is about 1.8 miles away, and the Blue River offers fishing about 2 miles off.
