South Willowbrook is an easy out-and-back hike of about 1.6 miles in Colorado's Summit County, set on county land within the Dillon Ranger District of the White River National Forest. The route gains about 317 feet in elevation, from a low point of about 9,094 feet to a high of about 9,405 feet. The trail is natural-surfaced, and horses are allowed, while bicycles are not. The parking area is at Willow Creek Trailhead, and the route is open year-round. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. A nearby weather station at a similar elevation records typical July highs around 75°F and lows near 38°F, and it stays cool through the year, with typical January highs around 31°F. Mesa Cortina, a mountain biking spot, is less than a mile away. Mount Silverthorne is about a mile off, and Heaton Bay Campground is roughly 3.4 miles away. Anglers can head to the Blue River, about 2.1 miles from the trail.
