Iko is a moderate out-and-back hike of about 4.6 miles on natural-surfaced trails in the Sulphur Ranger District of the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests in Colorado. The trail rises about 624 feet from a low point of 8,892 feet to a high point of 9,517 feet, and it is open seasonally from June 1 to November 15, with parking at the Elk Creek Trailhead. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Fraser, which sits about 950 feet lower than the high point, show July highs around 77°F and lows near 38°F. Winter is harsh, with January highs around 31°F and lows near -1°F. The trail is managed by the Forest Service and is open to horses. Several other spots sit within a few miles. Chainsaw, a mountain biking area, is less than a mile away, and the D-2 Trail is about 0.7 miles off. St. Louis Creek Campground is roughly 1.5 miles away, and the Vasquez Road climbing area is about 1.9 miles away.
