Eider Trail is a 3.3-mile out-and-back hike in the Norwood Ranger District of the Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests in Colorado, managed by the Forest Service. The trail rises from about 9,125 feet to about 10,235 feet, with an elevation gain of 1,106 feet, and is rated moderate. The trail is on natural surface, and both horses and bikes are allowed. The Eider to Mill Creek Connector starts just 0.1 mile away, and Rudy's Trail is 0.2 mile off. Dallas Peak, a mountaineering objective, lies about 0.9 mile away, and Mill Creek Basin Backcountry Camp is about 2.7 miles away for overnight stays. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Telluride show July highs around 77°F with lows near 41°F, while winter highs stay in the mid-30s.
