Pawnee Campground is a Forest Service campground in the Boulder Ranger District of the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests in Colorado. It sits within the Boulder Ranger District, and the nearest town is Boulder, about 3 miles away. The site is a simple base for an overnight stay. Vault toilets are the only listed amenity, and a fee is charged for use. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Boulder run to highs around 68°F in July and 66°F in August, with lows in the low 40s. That station sits about 570 feet lower than the campground, so temperatures here run a little cooler. Mountain bikers will find the Tbd and Brainard Lake Cutoff trails within a third of a mile. Camp Dick and Shoshoni Peak, both climbing areas, are about 4 miles away.
