Gothic Camping Area is a designated camping area in the Gothic Corridor of Colorado's Gunnison Ranger District, part of the Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests. It sits close to Crested Butte and the Gothic Campground. The site has 14 semi-primitive camping spots, each with a tent pad, picnic table and fire ring. Sites are marked with unit markers, and camping is allowed only in these designated areas. A vault toilet is available nearby. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Crested Butte put July highs around 76°F with lows near 40°F, while temperatures at this higher ground run a bit cooler. Winters are cold, with January highs around 26°F. Campsites GC 13 is about 0.2 miles away, and the Bellview and Precarious Peak hikes are both about 0.9 miles off. The Crested Butte climbing area is roughly 1.4 miles away.
