Walker River Canyon is a climbing area in the Bridgeport Ranger District of Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest in California, managed by the Forest Service. The South Buttress climbing area sits just 0.1 mile away, making the two an easy pairing for a single visit. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the Bridgeport weather station, about 16 miles away at a similar elevation, show July highs around 85°F with lows near 43°F, while winter brings frequent snow days and highs in the mid-40s. Chris Flat Campground is 0.5 mile away and Bootleg Campground is about a mile away for overnight stays. Mill Canyon Road, a mountain biking route, is roughly 2.7 miles off, and paddlers can reach the West Walker River about 3.7 miles away.
