Vader Roof is a climbing area on Bureau of Land Management land within the Barstow Field Office in California, about 10 miles from Victorville. It sits among a cluster of other climbing areas, including Jabba, Inner Sanctum, Sidewinder and Twin Towers, all within about a tenth of a mile. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Victorville weather station show April highs around 73°F and October highs around 79°F, while July and August average in the upper 90s. That station sits roughly 1,000 feet lower than the climbing area, so temperatures up high run cooler. For a change from the rock, Farly Mine Trail and Bass Hill Trail are both about 6 miles away, and Chimney Rock Loop is about 9 miles off.
