The Owl is a climbing area on Bureau of Land Management land in the Barstow Field Office in California, about 10 miles from the Victorville weather station. It sits among several other climbing areas, including Middle Earth, Zena Rocks and the Northeast side, all within about a tenth of a mile. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from the Victorville station show April highs around 73°F and October highs around 79°F, while July and August average in the upper 90s. That station sits roughly 1,000 feet below the climbing area, so temperatures up high run cooler. The area has nine routes, with sport climbing making up most of them. Grades range from 5.3 to 5.10c.
