Upper Tenaja Boulder is a bouldering area in the San Mateo Canyon Wilderness, part of the Trabuco Ranger District of Cleveland National Forest in California. The Forest Service manages the land, and the area sits within designated wilderness. The climbing here is all bouldering, with five routes listed, and the grades run from V0 to V1-2. Three of the named routes are Snake Eyes Stem (V0), T-slab (V1) and Tenaja Butt Start (V1-2). Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Elsinore show April highs around 76°F and November highs around 73°F, while July and August average in the upper 90s. Tenaja Falls, another climbing area, is just 0.1 mile away, and the San Mateo hike is about half a mile off. Wildomar Campground is roughly 3.7 miles away, and the Upper San Juan Boulders are about 4.1 miles away.
