The Super Dome is a climbing area in the Joshua Tree Wilderness, part of Joshua Tree National Park in California. The National Park Service manages the land, and the area falls within designated wilderness. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Yucca Valley show April highs around 73°F with lows near 46°F, and October highs around 80°F with lows near 50°F. That station sits roughly 1,250 feet below the dome, so temperatures up high run cooler. The area has seven routes, six of them trad and one sport. The YDS grades range from 5.7 to 5.12c, with Warpath at 5.12c being the hardest. Cole-Lewis, a trad route at 5.10b, was first climbed by Charles Cole and Gibb Lewis in 1983. Other climbing areas lie close by, including Hooter Rock and the Willow Hole Area, each about 0.4 miles away, and Atom Smasher Boulders at about half a mile. For a hike, Willow Hole Trail is about 1.8 miles off.
