Sloth Boulder is a bouldering area in Yosemite National Park, California, managed by the National Park Service. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots, with Bridwell Boulder and Swan Slab Proper each about 0.1 mile away, and Camp 4 West and the Yosemite Falls Trail both about 0.2 mile off. The area is a compact, close-together set of boulders rather than a long route, and it works well as a short stop for climbers already in the park. The boulders here are all rated on the V scale, with five routes in total. The easiest is Hand Traverse at V0+, and the hardest is The Sloth at V3. Leaf Eater is V1. The climbing is bouldering only, so there is no rope or anchor to set up. The most comfortable months for a visit are late spring and early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 70°F and October highs around 71°F, while July and August average highs near 89°F. A fee is charged for climbing in the park. Lower Pines Campground and North Pines Campground are both about 1.9 miles away for overnight stays.
