Rainbow B is a bouldering area in California's Tahoe National Forest, within the Yuba River Ranger District. The Forest Service manages the surrounding land. It sits among a cluster of climbing and hiking spots, with Rainbow A and Rainbow C about a tenth of a mile away and the Loch Leven hike just as close. The climbing here is all bouldering, and the route list runs nine problems, from V1 through V5. Several are named, including "Sweeping for Tweakers" at V3 and "Chokey Cheese" at V5. The grades are typical for the area, which is suited to climbers looking for a range of bouldering challenges. Summer is the warmest stretch. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Lake Spaulding put July and August highs around 82°F with lows in the upper 40s, and the station sits a few hundred feet lower than the boulders, so temperatures at the rock run slightly cooler. Big Bend Campground is about 0.3 miles away, and Hampshire Rocks Campground is roughly 0.8 miles off. The Salmon Lake Tie Trail and paddling on Big Granite Creek are both within a few miles.
