Methane Boulder is a bouldering area in California's Mount San Jacinto State Park, within the San Jacinto Ranger District of San Bernardino National Forest. The land is managed by State Park and Recreation, and the boulders sit among several other climbing spots in the park. The area has five boulder problems, all rated on the V scale from V2 to V9. The Methane route is the namesake of the area and is rated V5, with Methamphetamine at V7 and Meth Lab at V9. The Methane Direct route, also V4, was first climbed by Rob Mulligan. Two other boulders, Poorman's Slashface Boulder and Tram Boulder, are each about 0.1 mile away. The Round Valley Trail and Desert View Trail are both within a mile for a walk before or after climbing.
