Lower Falls is a climbing area in Los Penasquitos Canyon Preserve in California, on land managed by the City of San Diego as city land. It sits among a cluster of other climbing areas in the canyon, so it works well as one stop on a day spent moving between nearby walls. Weather here is mild most of the year. Typical averages from the San Diego Miramar weather station, about 5 miles away, show highs near 70°F in April and only around five wet days that month, and fall is similarly pleasant with highs in the mid to upper 70s in October. Midsummer runs warmer, with August highs around 82°F, while winter brings the most rain at about eight wet days a month. The closest neighbors are Del Poconitos and Still Waters Run Deep, both about 0.1 mile away, along with the Rancho Penasquitos Canyon climbing area.
