Lost Souls Slab is a sport climbing area in California's San Bernardino National Forest, within the Mountaintop Ranger District. The Forest Service manages the land, and the slab sits among a cluster of other climbing spots in this corner of the forest, with Voodoo Wall and The Coven both about 0.1 mile away. The climbing here is all sport, and the five routes range from 5.9 up to 5.11c. Youth of a Nation, at 5.9, is the easiest of the five, while Night Shift, at 5.11c, is the hardest. All were first ascended in 2002, and their names carry a dark, poetic edge to match the slab's name. For timing, summer is the most comfortable season. A nearby weather station at Big Bear Lake, about 4.5 miles away, records typical July highs around 80°F with lows near 50°F. That station sits roughly 740 feet below the slab, so temperatures on the slab run cooler. The closest camping is Grays Peak Group Camp, about 0.9 mile away, and the Coxey Truck Trail hike starts about 1.1 mile off. Big Bear Lake is about 2.2 miles away.
