Little Hunk - NE Face (Left) is a climbing area in Joshua Tree National Park in California, managed by the National Park Service. It sits among a cluster of other climbing areas, including Little Hunk, Snickers - North Face and Rich And Famous Cliff, all within about a tenth of a mile. Barker Dam Trail is about 0.3 miles away. The area has five routes, four of which are trad and one sport. Grades run from 5.10a to 5.11b, with the hardest being Archer-Friedgen at 5.11b. Move to the Groove is the sport route, a 5.10c first ascended by Alan Roberts and John Hayward in 1987. Point of No Return, a 5.10c trad route, was first climbed by Tony Yaniro and others in January 1978. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Yucca Valley show April highs around 73°F and October highs around 80°F, while July and August average about 96°F. That station sits roughly 1,100 feet lower than the park's high country, so temperatures up high run cooler. A fee is charged for park activities. Sheep Pass Group campground is about 2.6 miles away.
