Escuelita Rock is a climbing area in the Mountaintop Ranger District of San Bernardino National Forest in California, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among several other climbing spots, including School Rock - West Face and School Rock (aka Eagle Eye Rock), both about 0.1 mile away, so the whole cluster makes an easy grouping for a climbing day. The area has five routes, with trad climbing accounting for three and sport climbing for two. Grades range from 5.2 to 5.9, with Lichen Fest and Kravity among the most notable. Lichen Fest is a trad route at 5.8, and Kravity is a trad route at 5.9. Kravster, a sport route at 5.9, was first climbed by Steve Kravchuck. For comfortable weather, late spring and early fall stand out. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Big Bear Lake show May highs around 66°F and September highs around 73°F, with lows in the mid-40s. Winter brings highs in the mid-40s and lows around 24°F. The station sits about 250 feet from the rock, so its figures should be a fair guide. Exploration Trail and Dry Creek Trail are both about half a mile away for a walk before or after climbing. Arrowbear Lake is about 1.3 miles off, and Shady Cove Group Campground lies roughly 2.7 miles away.
