Echo Rock - E Face (Left) is a climbing area in Joshua Tree National Park in California, managed by the National Park Service. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots, with Echo Rock - South Face, Hidden Slab and Echo Rock Boulders all about 0.1 mile away. Barker Dam Trail starts just as close. The area has 12 routes, 10 of them trad and two sport, with grades ranging from 5.7+ to 5.11+. Among the named routes are Frumunda Cheese at 5.7+ and Igor Prince of Poodles at 5.11+. The Menace is a sport route at 5.10c. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to climb. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Yucca Valley show April highs around 73°F and October highs around 80°F, while July and August average about 96°F. A fee is charged for park activities.
