E. J. Deluxe Boulder is a bouldering area in Joshua Tree National Park in California, managed by the National Park Service. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots, with Lonesome Crowded West and Rusty Wall each about 0.1 mile away and the Hippodrome Area about 0.3 mile off. The area is a compact bouldering destination rather than a long route, and a fee is charged for park use. The climbing here is all bouldering, with five routes ranging from V1- to V6. The most straightforward is Convenient Parking at V1-, and the hardest is Cumalong at V6. EJ Deluxe is a V5, and EJ Deluxe Escape is a V3. The routes are named for their own style and grade, and the area is best suited to climbers looking for a short session on a single boulder. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Yucca Valley show April highs around 73°F and October highs around 80°F, while July and August average about 96°F. That station sits roughly 900 feet lower than the boulders, so temperatures on the rock run cooler.
