East Lake is a mountain biking route in the Dinkey Lakes Wilderness, part of the High Sierra Ranger District of Sierra National Forest in California. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route lies within designated wilderness. The climb covers about 1.5 miles, rising from roughly 8,545 feet to about 9,392 feet, a total gain of 834 feet. The route is short and the climb is moderate, so it works well as a single outing rather than a long day. Summer is the most comfortable time to ride. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Mammoth Lakes show July highs around 78°F with lows near 49°F, and the station sits well below the route, so temperatures on the trail run cooler.
