Valley View Trail is an easy out-and-back hike of about 1.7 miles in California's Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit, managed by the Forest Service. The trail rises from a low point of about 6,584 feet to a high of about 7,144 feet, a climb of roughly 550 feet. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at South Lake Tahoe show July and August highs around 80°F with only about two wet days a month, while winter highs sit near 43°F with lows in the teens. The trail sits close to several other spots. The Tahoe Mountain Trail and its south section are about 0.2 miles away, and Lake Tahoe - South Shore is about 1.4 miles off. Fallen Leaf Campground is about 1.7 miles away.
