Schoolhouse is a short, easy hike on natural trail in the Yuba River Ranger District of Tahoe National Forest in California. The trail is about 1.4 miles long, with a one-way climb of about 246 feet from a low point of 2,008 feet to a high of 2,271 feet. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route is open to bikes as well as hikers. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show October highs around 78°F with lows near 44°F, and May highs around 76°F, while July and August average about 94°F. Hornswoggle campground sits just 0.2 miles away, and Garden Point Boating campground and the Bullards Bar Trail are each about 1.1 miles off. Paddlers can head to Shady Creek, about 6 miles away.
