L Lake is a moderate out-and-back hike in the John Muir Wilderness, part of the High Sierra Ranger District of Sierra National Forest in California. The trail is managed by the Forest Service and runs about 3.1 miles, with a one-way climb of about 455 feet from a low point of roughly 10,634 feet to a high of about 11,105 feet. The trail is natural-surface and allows horses, but not bikes. It is not an accessible route. The closest neighbor is the Humphreys Basin, Pine Creek & Granite Park climbing area, about half a mile away. Merriam Peak and Merrian Lake are both within about 2.2 miles, and North Lake Campground sits about 8 miles off.
