Feather Lake is a hard hike in the Ansel Adams Wilderness, part of the High Sierra Ranger District of Sierra National Forest in California. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route is an out-and-back that climbs from about 8,815 feet to about 10,408 feet over roughly 6.6 miles. The trail is natural-surface and not accessible, and bikes are not allowed. The hike starts and ends in the wilderness, so plan for a full day. The Graveyard Cutoff lies just 0.1 mile away, and Goodale Pass is about 0.3 mile off, making it easy to link these routes together. For an overnight base, Vermillion Campground is about 3.1 miles away, and Mono Hot Springs is about 6.1 miles away.
