Billy Creek is a short, easy out-and-back hike in the High Sierra Ranger District of Sierra National Forest in California, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is about 1.6 miles long, with a low point of 7,218 feet and a high of 7,316 feet, so the one-way climb is about 90 feet. It's a low-effort outing, and the natural-surface trail is open year-round. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the nearby Huntington Lake weather station show July and August highs around 74°F with lows near 49°F and only one or two wet days a month. Winter is much colder, with January highs around 43°F and lows near 24°F. The trail is not accessible. Bikes are allowed, so it works for hikers and riders alike. The Billy Creek, Upper campground and the Willow Hill mountain biking area both sit about 0.3 miles away. The Coarsegrass Meadow Trail is about 0.7 miles off, and Pitman Creek, a canoeing spot, is about 3 miles away.
