White Rock is a primitive campground on Tahoe National Forest in California, within the Sierraville Ranger District. The Forest Service manages the land, and PG&E is listed as the managing agency for the site. No fees are required to use this campground, which makes it an easy base for a day or longer in the surrounding forest. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Sagehen Creek, which sits about 1,600 feet lower than the campground, show July highs around 80°F with lows near 37°F. That station's figures run cooler than conditions at the campground, so expect somewhat milder temperatures up high. Paradise Lake is about 1.5 miles away, and the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail #2000 passes within about 1.7 miles. North Creek, a canoeing spot, is about 2 miles off, and Meadow Knoll OHV is about 5 miles away.
