Toad Lake Campground is a Forest Service site in the Mt. Shasta Ranger District of Shasta-Trinity National Forest, about half a mile below the outlet of Toad Lake. It has six campsites along a stream and is set in a forested, rocky and meadowed stretch of shoreline. The site is a nature walk area with many sensitive and rare plants, and the fishing is fair for small Brook Trout with some Rainbow Trout. Boats are not allowed, and the fly fishing can be excellent. There are no fees to use the site, and it has vault toilets as its only amenity. Porcupine Lake lies about 0.7 miles away, and the Sisson Callahan Trail (Historic Route) is about 1.3 miles off. For paddling, the South Fork Sacramento River is about 4.3 miles away, and Castle Lake Campground sits about 7 miles out.
