Sweetwater is a Forest Service campground in the Groveland Ranger District of Stanislaus National Forest in California. The land is managed by the Forest Service, and the nearest town is Groveland, about 12 miles away. The site is a simple base for exploring the surrounding trails and rivers. Amenities are basic: the campground has vault toilets, and a fee is charged for stays. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Groveland show May highs around 73°F and October highs around 74°F, while July and August average about 91°F. Several trails start close by.
