Strawberry Point Campground is a Forest Service campground in the Pacific Ranger District of Eldorado National Forest, about 23 miles east of Placerville on Highway 50. The route in from town runs 11 miles north on Ice House Road (Forest Road 3), then 3 miles on Ice House/Wrights Lake Tie Road (Forest Road 32). The Eldorado National Forest's Recreation Opportunity Guide (ROG) for the site offers maps and directions to help plan your trip. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July and August highs around 80°F with lows in the low 40s and only about two wet days a month. Winter is much colder, with highs in the low 40s and lows near 18°F from December through February. The campground sits close to several other outdoor spots. Ice House Bike Trail is just 0.1 mile away, and South Fork Silver Creek and Ice House Reservoir are each about 0.3 mile off. Northwind Campground is about half a mile away.
