Silvertip is a Forest Service campground in the Calaveras Ranger District of Stanislaus National Forest in California. It sits close to Lake Alpine, with the Lake Alpine recreation area about 1.5 miles away and Lodgepole Campground about 0.4 miles off. The site has flush toilets, and a fee is charged for recreation here. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical July highs reach about 75°F with lows near 49°F, according to averages from a nearby weather station at Dagget Pass, Nevada. Winters are cold, with typical highs around 35 to 37°F from December through February. Hikers can start Osborn Crest or the Silvertip Cg to Lake Alpine trail right next door, and Lake Alpine Recreation Area offers fishing about 1.5 miles away.
