Rucker Lake is a Forest Service campground on the Tahoe National Forest, in the Yuba River Ranger District of California. It is a PG&E operated lake/campground with vault toilets as the only amenities, and there is no boat ramp at the lake. Kayaks and boats can be launched by car top. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Lake Spaulding weather station show July and August highs around 82°F with lows in the upper 40s, while winter highs stay in the low to mid 40s. Spaulding Lake Trail is about a mile away, and Fall Creek offers canoeing at roughly 1.3 miles. The Gorge and Upper Gorge climbing areas are both within about 2 miles.
