Patterson Campground is a small family site on the southern edge of the SouthWarner Wilderness in California's Modoc National Forest, within the Warner Mountain Ranger District. It is managed by the Forest Service and sits at the edge of the wilderness, making it an ideal base for the Summit Trail, which starts right here. The campground has only six sites for tents and small campers and trailers, and it no longer allows horses. Equestrian camping has been moved to East Creek Campground, about a mile away. Vault toilets are the only facilities on site. For more time on foot, the Connector Trail starts just 0.3 miles away, and East Creek Trail is about 0.6 miles off. East Creek Equestrian Campground and Emerson Campground, about 5 miles away, are other nearby camping options.
