Orr Lake is a Forest Service campground in the Goosenest Ranger District of Klamath National Forest in California, about 4 miles from the town of Shafter. It's a popular fishing spot with a view of Mt Shasta, and its waters hold trout, bass and catfish. The site has eight campsites in all, with four on the east side and four double sites on the north end of the lake. A scenic trail along the east edge connects them and gives access to several fishing jetties. A boat ramp sits on the east shore, and a hand-launch ramp is on the north end. There are vault toilets on site, and no fees are required to use the campground. Late spring and early fall tend to be the most comfortable times to visit, with typical averages from a nearby weather station running from highs around 66°F in May to 78°F in September. Summer is warmer, with typical highs near 86°F in July and August.
