Obsidian Flat Group Campground is a Forest Service group site in the Mono Lake Ranger District of Inyo National Forest in California, about 0.6 miles from the Obsidian Flat campground. It is a simple site with vault toilets, and overnight use costs $20 per night for a group site. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Mammoth Lakes show July highs around 78°F with lows near 49°F, while winter highs sit around 41°F with lows in the teens. Other places to stay and explore are close by. Lower Deadman Campground is about 1.3 miles away, and the C-Crater Flat/Deadman Creek and Glass Creek Meadow hikes are each within about a mile. Climbers can head to Matrimony Wall, roughly 1.9 miles off.
