Kennedy Meadows Campground

Kennedy Meadows Campground sits at 6,200 feet on the Pacific Crest Trail near the South Fork of the Kern River, within the South Sierra and Golden Trout wildernesses. The Forest Service manages the land as part of the Mt. Whitney Ranger District of Inyo National Forest, and the nearest town is Talus, about 9 miles away. The campground has 37 sites, some of which are shaded by juniper and pinion. Vault toilets are the only facility, and there is no water, trash service or fee. Maximum vehicle length is 30 feet. The South Fork Kern River is about 3.5 miles away for paddling. Long Canyon Trail and Bitter Creek are both about 3.9 miles off, and Fish Creek campground is about 5 miles away.
