Horse Flat Campground is a Forest Service site in the Weaverville Ranger District of Shasta-Trinity National Forest in northern California. It sits within the national forest's recreation infrastructure, and the land is managed by the Forest Service. The site has vault toilets, and no fees are required to use it. That makes it a simple, low-cost base for an overnight stay in the area. For comfortable weather, late spring and early fall are the sweet spots. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Callahan show May highs around 73°F and September highs around 83°F, while July and August average near 90°F.
