Goldfield Campground, a Forest Service site in the Weaverville Ranger District of Shasta-Trinity National Forest in northern California, is closed after being burned in the River Complex Fires. The agency expects it to be rebuilt, but it is not open for camping at this time. The site sits in the Weaverville Ranger District, about 16 miles from the town of Weaverville. No fees are required to use it, and it is managed by the US Forest Service. The most comfortable months for a visit are typically late spring and early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Callahan show May highs around 73°F and September highs around 83°F, while July and August average about 90°F. Several other places are close by. Boulder Creek is about half a mile away, and Sugar Pine Lake and Billys Peak are both within about 2 miles. Trinity River Campground is roughly 4 miles off.
