Denny Cg-F is a remote Forest Service campground in the Big Bar Ranger District of Shasta-Trinity National Forest, about 0.8 miles from the town of Denny, California. It has five first-come, first-served sites and a steep trail down to the New River. Vault toilets are the only facility, and there is no water on site. No fees are required to use the campground. That makes it a simple stop for an overnight in the area, though the lack of water means you'll need to bring your own. The most comfortable months for a visit are typically late spring and early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 78°F and October highs around 74°F, while July and August average in the mid-90s. Denny Campground sits just 0.1 mile away, and the New River, a canoeing route, is about 0.9 mile off. Devils Canyon and Jim Jam are both hikes within about 4 miles.
