Devils Canyon is a hard hike in the Big Bar Ranger District of Shasta-Trinity National Forest in California, about 21.7 miles long with a one-way elevation gain of 5,193 feet. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is natural-surfaced. Horses are allowed, but bikes are not. The route is an out-and-back that climbs from about 1,600 feet to nearly 6,000 feet. That makes it a long, steep day, and the high point sits well above the low point. Nearby, Jim Jam is about 1.5 miles away and the East Fork New River Trail is about 2.1 miles away. Paddlers can reach the New River at about 2.1 miles, and Denny Campground is about 3 miles away.
