Whispering Sands Beach
About
Whispering Sands Beach is a public ocean beach in California, about 9 miles from the town of Del Mar. There is no fee to visit. Summer and early fall are the warmest, driest stretch. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show August highs around 74°F with lows near 66°F and almost no wet days, while winter brings highs in the mid-60s and about seven wet days a month. Several trails sit within a few miles, including the Scripps Coastal Reserve Biodiversity Trail about 3 miles away and the La Jolla Trail at roughly 4 miles. Climbers can head to Lower Falls, about 8.5 miles off.
