Children's Pool Beach
About
Children's Pool Beach is a public ocean beach on the California coast, about 8 miles from the town of Del Mar. Restrooms are available, lifeguards are on duty, and swimming is allowed. There is no fee to visit. Summer and early fall are the warmest times to go. Typical August averages from the nearby San Diego Seaworld weather station run to highs around 74°F and lows near 66°F, with almost no rain from June through September. For time off the sand, the Scripps Coastal Reserve Biodiversity Trail is about 2.7 miles away and the La Jolla Trail about 3.3 miles. Climbers can find Rancho Penasquitos Canyon and Lower Falls roughly 8 miles inland.
