The Gasfields (Proper) is a bouldering area in Arkansas, about 1.5 miles from the town of Crossroads. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots, with The Dog House and The Pit both about 0.1 mile away and SCR House at a similar distance. The Cellar is roughly 0.8 mile off, and North Fork Cadron Creek is about 2.1 miles away. The area is a bouldering destination, with six routes listed, all of them boulders. The grades range from V1-2 to V7-8, with the hardest routes being Flow Tester and Fluids Control at V6-7 and V7-8. The easiest are Nonlinear and Snubbing Unit at V1-2. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from the Greers Ferry Dam weather station, about 11 miles away, show April highs around 72°F and October highs around 73°F, while July and August average highs near 91°F. That station sits about 440 feet lower than the Gasfields, so temperatures at the boulders run a little cooler. Paddlers can head to Cadron Creek, about 3.1 miles away, or Greers Ferry Lake, roughly 9.7 miles off.
