The Hickory Nut Lakeside Trail is a 3.3-mile out-and-back hike on natural surface in the Ouachita National Forest, within the Womble Ranger District in Arkansas. The route rises from about 1,088 feet to a high point of 1,121 feet before descending back, with the steepest stretch at about 0.2 miles in from the start, where the grade reaches 15%. The total climb is about 1,066 feet for the full trip. Spring and fall are the most comfortable seasons. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Mount Ida show April highs around 74°F and October highs around 75°F, while July and August average highs near 93°F. The hike takes about 1.5 hours. Hickory Nut Vista Trail is less than a mile away, and Hickory Nut Mountain campground is about 1.4 miles off. Lovit - Fire Tower Spur and Lake Ouachita Vista Trail are within about 2.5 miles.
