Tollgate Pass West is a climbing area on Bureau of Land Management land within the Safford Field Office in Arizona, managed by the BLM. It sits about a tenth of a mile from Tollgate Pass East, so the two areas are easy to pair on a single visit. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Clifton show April highs around 81°F and October highs around 83°F, while summer highs reach 100°F and July brings the most wet days of the year. The area holds five sport routes, all rated between 5.5 and 5.9 on the YDS scale. The routes include Lemuel (5.5), Laman (5.7), Nephi (5.8) and Sam (5.9), all of which were first ascended by Tanner Pursley.
