Slate Nation is a climbing area on Bureau of Land Management land in Arizona, within the Tucson Field Office. It sits among a cluster of other climbing areas and trails, with Karma Cave and Bone Town both about 0.1 mile away and Welcome Wall about 0.2 mile off. The area is managed by the Bureau of Land Management. The climbing here is all sport, and the routes run from about 5.7 up to 5.13a. Golden Years is the easiest at 5.7, and Redneck Riviera is the hardest at 5.13a. The median grade is 5.11. Climbers can also look to Karma Cave and Bone Town for more options within a short walk. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show April highs around 76°F and October highs around 79°F, while July and August average highs near 97°F.
