The Pyramid is a climbing area in the Santa Catalina Ranger District of Coronado National Forest in Arizona, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among a cluster of other climbing spots and trails, with Paradox Rock, Pharaoh and Ripple Wall all about 0.1 mile away, and Bug Springs Trail just as close. The area is a compact hub for climbers, with five routes in total. Three are sport routes and two are trad, and the grades run from 5.9 up to 5.11+. Froggy Richard is a trad route at 5.9, and Wild Turkey Sunrise is a trad route at 5.11+. Pyramid Scheme is a sport route at 5.11-. For comfortable weather, late spring and early fall are the sweet spots. Typical averages from the nearby Mt Lemmon Willow Canyon weather station, which sits about 1,160 feet lower than the Pyramid, show May highs around 71°F and September highs around 75°F, with lows near 50°F. Winter is cold, with January highs around 50°F and lows near 34°F. General Hitchcock campground is about half a mile away, and Rose Canyon campground is about 1.5 miles off. Bug Springs Trail is close by for a hike, and the Bug Springs mountain biking trailhead is about 1.3 miles away.
