Problems on Unnamed Boulders
Problems on Unnamed Boulders is a bouldering area in Arizona's Union Hills, on city land. It sits among a cluster of other climbing spots, including Sunshine Boulder, Warm Up Boulder and Beardsley Bouldering, all within about 0.1 mile. That makes it easy to pair with those neighbors for a full day of bouldering. The boulders here are a compact, close-together set of problems. Of the nine routes, seven are graded on the V scale from V0- to V5, and two are on the YDS scale at 5.11+. The most straightforward are Short N' Easy (V0-) and Beer Belly (V0+), while Custer Died for Your Sins is the hardest at V5. Beardsley Roped Routes and Beardsley Bouldering also sit right nearby, so roped climbers can easily switch between the two styles. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. A nearby weather station in Deer Valley typically averages highs around 75°F in March and 86°F in October, while June and July average highs near 101°F and 104°F. For a change of pace, the Great Horned Owl Trail, Cactus Wren Trail and Union Peak Trail are all about 4 miles away.
