Piranha Flats - East is a bouldering area in the Globe Ranger District of Tonto National Forest in Arizona, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots, with Piranha Flats - West, Atlantis #1 and Atlantis #2 all about 0.1 mile away. The area holds 15 bouldering routes, all rated from V1 to V5 on the V scale. The easiest are RJG #244 and RJG #254 at V1, and the hardest is RJG #275 at V5. The routes are spread across the flats, so the whole area works well as a single visit rather than a single climb. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from the nearby Superior weather station show March highs around 72°F and November highs around 72°F, while July highs reach about 99°F. That station sits roughly 1,100 feet lower than the flats, so temperatures here run cooler. For a change from bouldering, the Legends of Superior Trail is about 2 miles away, and the Arnett Canyon Trail #218, Telegraph Canyon Trail and High Trail are all within about 6 miles.
